Unleash your energy and embrace yourself with our upcoming Belly Dance workshop. It is the time to discover your hidden power!

Workshop Methodology:

A movement development session in authentic Arabic dance (Belly dancing - Raqs sharqi) to Egyptian songs. The class will introduce the basic movements and build them into a choreography.

About Shadwa Ramadan:

Shadwa Ramadan is a gender studies master's Student, who has a deep passion toward belly-dancing as a feminist method of healing and interacting out of the constructed binary between

mind, body, and spirit. Shadwa started her belly-dancing journey when she was five years old in Egypt, she grew up with her Egyptian family who used to dance and celebrate their happiness by dancing. She believes that belly dancing is in her Egyptian ancestor's genes. As a non-verbal and artistic language of communication, Shadwa in her studies delved into the interconnectedness between belly dancing and self-acceptance. She also offered several in-person and virtual classes of belly dancing in and out of Canada. In her workshop, Shadwa will bring out her experience, culture, and feeling into praxis.
