Jill Dreaddy
Principal and Artistic Director
A native of St. John's, Newfoundland, dancer, choreographer and dance educator Jill Dreaddy discovered her passion for dance at the age of 5. As a young dancer Jill was eager to explore the world of dance outside of her own Province and studied at Quintee Ballet School and travelled to various Canadian Cities, L.A. and New York for open classes, workshops and courses. Jill was recipient of the 1995 Dance Teachers Association of Newfoundland scholarship and studied in England that summer at the I.S.T.D. headquaters in London and attended the I.S.T.D. summer school in Chichester.
After graduating from dance college, Jill established JILL DREADDY DANCECO in 1997 (CBS). Jill expanded in 2006 with a second location in St. John's. Jill teaches Flamenco, Ballroom/Latin, Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz, Latin Jazz, Ballet/Pointe Music & Movement. Jill danced with El Viento Flamenco, a Halifax based flamenco company, for several years and toured across Newfoundland & Labrador and Nova Scotia. Jill continues to travel within Canada, US and overseas to study with top choreographers and teachers to stay on the cutting edge of dance.

Jill's knowledge of dance and its many forms, accompanied with her extensive experience, have taught her that ANYONE CAN DANCE!
Jenny Todd
Jenny began dancing at the age of three in Haddington, Scotland, her hometown) with the Morag Alexander School of Dance, studying Ballet, Scottish and Jazz. She then went on to complete the 3 year Professional Dancers and Teachers of Dance course at Preston College, for which she was awarded a scholarship. It was here that she gained her vocational exams in ISTD and RAD Ballet, ISTD Tap, Modern Theatre, National and her CDE teaching qualifications with the ISTD. Jenny is also a qualified gym and fitness instructor, teaching yoga and various exercise classes. Since graduating from Preston College, she has taught throughout the UK and in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
Andrea Tucker - Contemporary
Andrea Tucker completed a two year professional dance teacher training program where she completed her Associates in Modern Theatre (ISTD), Tap (ISTD) and Ballroom (CDTA). This lead her to the Toronto Dance Theatre's professional program where she graduated in 2002. Since then she has danced, trained and taught in Vancouver, Japan and Australia. Her training based in Graham and Limon techniques along with elements of improvisation and basic body work has aided her artistic discovery and development. Andrea has been teaching at JDD since Sept. 2007.
Dounia Hamoutene - Belly Dance
Dounia was born in Algeria and started dancing as early as she could walk. In 1998, she arrived in Newfoundland to pursue her scientific research career. Nostalgia, love of music and a h2 desire to share her heritage pushed Dounia to start teaching Algerian Belly Dancing in 2001. Dounia has been teaching at JDD since Sept. 2006.
Heidi Dowden - Junior Instructor
Heidi starting dancing at JILL DREADDY DANCECO at the age of 6. Her love for dance started with Jazz and rapidly grew into other styles including Tap, Hip hop, Ballet, Pointe, Latin Jazz, Breaking, Flamenco and Contemporary. She is also a member of the Hip Hop dance crew
Swaagabeez. Heidi has coached the cheerleading team and has taught dance at her former high school, Crescent Collegiate, where she was the founder and choreographer for the Crescent Collegiate dance team in 2005. After graduating in 2008 she became head coach and director of choreography for both the cheerleading and dance teams.
Heidi first became a dance assistant at JDD and in the fall of 2009 was introduced as a junior instructor. Heidi teaches Music & Movement, children’s Ballet and Jazz Funk & Hip Hop.
Justin Power - Breaking
Justin has been dancing since 2008 and breaking has become a passion for him. He
has competed in bboy competitions in Halifax and trained with
bboy Taiyo, Sho Tyme, and Kim Sato. Justin is dedicated to his training and continues to study and grow from studying from the likes of Dyzee, Puzzles, Crazy Smooth, Benzo, Ivan and Kid David.
